Marzocchi: Z3 Flylight Air: 2000: 1 1/8' 1955 g: 185 mm steerer: Marzocchi: Z3 Flyweight 100.Recently bought my neighbour's bike he built 14 years ago now and bought these forks brand new, they still work like they've just left the factory. The oil has been changed to a lighter oil to take the weight off the front end which seemed to make quite a difference. Not once have they bottomed out even when the pressure has been lowered for more off road riding which I found very impressive from the age of the forks. They run better than most forks other companies are throwing out nowadays and seem a lot more reliable too. I would highly recommend the forks for general mountain riders, not too extreme downhill riders and anyone who enjoys relaxing bike rides, they won't let you down. Submitted by Patrick a Cross Country Rider from Dover, NJ, USA Date Reviewed: May 27, 2003 Strengths: This shock kicks MAJOR ASS!
This shock has given me tremendous gains in control and has allowed me to ride much faster than I probably should be.I absolutely love the four inches of travel, definitely the way to go. Weaknesses: The oil that comes in it from the factory is just a little bit to heavy and needed to be changed to a lighter oil. The seals can be problematic, if you have them changed every year to year and a half you will be fine. There is a little bit of stiction at the top of the shock, but you don't notice it when u are on the bike since your body weight pretty much compresses the shock past that point. Favorite Trail: Too many to chose from to just pick one!
Duration Product Used: 6 months Price Paid: $200.00 Purchased At: Cycle Craft in Chester Similar Products Used: Manitou SX (sucks), Head Shock Super Fatty D (ok but sucks in comparison to the Bomber) Bike Setup: CAAD 4, XT derailures and hubs, Mavic D521 rims, yellow Race Face Turbine LP crank with Black Spire Big Ring Protector ( mad sweet setup) Rock Shox seatpost shock, WTB Stealth saddle (very comfortable), yellow stiffy stem, EA 70 bar.I put these forks on as a make do until I could afford the Fox Vanilla's. I expected them to be the weakest link on the bike but to be honest the Z3's work so well I'm not rushing to replace them.I changed the oil to lighter 5 wt synthetic and they seems to absorb everything I throw at them. It's odd even though i'm a bit on the heavy side and require more pressure or heavier springs, a lot of the forks I have had seem over damped and work much better on the quicker settings. The best value fork I have ever used. I love(d) the shock. I was great until I was bombing down a trail, I hit a large root and my front wheel blasted upwards the way it should.Only problem was the right stanchion blew out on me. A 4 inch crack right down the front! All the oil and air just blasted right out the front of it in a fine spray.
NO CRASH INVOLVED! I had about 40 lbs of air in it.Someone suggested I had too much air pressure, but if that were the case, either the valves or the seals should've blown, the stanchion should not have cracked.
Its a straight crack so I wonder if there was a seam there. Anyways, I sent the shock back to Marzocchi for repair/replacement since it is under warranty. I hope I have better luck with the next since I love the feel of this shock. Despite loving the fork, I can't give it any better than 3 chilis due to my mishap. IGNORE THIS.

I was able to get this resolved. I've found two manuals for this fork online and they have been quite helpful, but I'm having a hard time separating the foot buffer from the piston rod. It is figure 10 in the following. I have also reviewed Marzocchi's manual from this page.and their manual leaves a lot up to the imagination when it comes to rebuilding. I ordered two new piston rods which arrived today and I need to remove the foot buffer to replace them. The packaging says that the piston rod is also used on the 2000 Z1 so I am assuming that this step of the disassembly is the same. Dora the explorer lost valentine game.
The pic in the first link indicates that the foot buffer should just slide off, but that thing is on there good. Post navigation.
You can modify a hanger using several methods:. Location grips: To move a hanger, select it, click the Location grip, and specify a different location on the building systems object. Lengthen grips: To lengthen the channel or drop rods, select the hanger, right-click, and click Edit Parameters.
Then select a Lengthen grip, and drag it to a new location. Commands on the context menu: Use the commands on the Support Orientation submenu to rotate the hanger around the building systems object, or to change the direction of support (Support From Above or Support From Below). AutoCAD commands: Use these commands to modify a hanger in other ways. You can access several AutoCAD commands, such as COPY, from the Basic Modify Tools submenu on the context menu.
